Choose target displays

The list shows the displays currently recognized by the system. A selected display receives the current effect; an unselected display keeps its original appearance. PaperScreen always keeps at least one display selected so the app cannot appear to be on while affecting no screen.

   Choose Displays at the bottom of the main window.

   Use each display name and detail to identify the screen.

   Select or clear the displays you want, then choose Done.

Why new displays are included automatically

When a new display is connected, PaperScreen adds it to the target set by default. This avoids a jarring split where the existing screen is softened but the new screen suddenly returns to its original brightness and color. You can clear that display later if you prefer it untouched.

When two screens still look different

Displays can differ greatly in panel technology, native color temperature, contrast, and hardware brightness. PaperScreen can apply the same paper or soft-light style, but it cannot remove differences created by the hardware itself. If one display is much brighter, adjust that display’s hardware brightness before comparing styles.
