Choose a Soft Light mode
Soft Light does not simulate paper texture. It softens the cool, bright character of a display. None of the three choices is limited to daytime or nighttime—use the one that suits your eyes and surroundings.
The character of each mode
Natural keeps colors clear and makes the smallest tonal change. Warm adds a balanced, mellow warmth. Deep Amber produces the deepest amber appearance and the most noticeable reduction in the display’s cool blue character.
Do not let the clock choose for you
Ambient light, panel characteristics, system appearance, and personal preference all change how a mode feels. It is perfectly reasonable to prefer Deep Amber during the day or Natural late at night. The useful test is whether the result remains comfortable and readable during real use.
Evaluate light and dark content
Do not judge a mode over an empty desktop alone. Open a light webpage, a dark app, and content with familiar images. Check whether white areas feel calmer, dark areas stay deep rather than hazy, and colors remain easy to distinguish. When the system moves between Light and Dark appearance, PaperScreen reapplies an effect suited to the current picture.
